Dr. Kurtis Schuyler

Dr. Schuyler was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. A second generation dentist, he grew up spending a lot of time with his dad at his dental practice. It was there that he fell in love with the transformative power of quality dental care.

Dr. Schuyler went to college at the University of Central Missouri for his undergraduate degree. He majored in Biology with a minor in Chemistry, while also playing baseball as a starting pitcher for the Mules. For dental school, Dr. Schuyler attended Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) in Bradenton, Florida where he and his now-wife, Kelsey, lived for four years. After graduating in 2019, they moved back to Kelsey’s hometown of St. Louis, Missouri where Dr. Schuyler was accepted into the Mercy Hospital General Practice Dental Residency Program, which he completed in 2020. He then started working as an associate dentist at Franklin County Dental and Implants, and purchased the practice in December 2022.

Outside of the office, Dr. Schuyler enjoys spending time with his wife and their three kids, Walker, Cal, and McCoy, along with his two german shepherds, Max and Georgia. Max occasionally makes an appearance at the office! In his free time, Dr. Schuyler loves to golf, play tee ball with his sons, and work in his yard.

I was born and raised in Washington and currently live in Dutzow with my husband, Bernie. We have one son. I am in my 27th year at Franklin County Dental and Implants. I love what I do and love the relationships that I have formed with our patients over the years. When I’m not working, I enjoy golfing with my husband and friends, and also enjoy spending time outside in my yard and garden.

I grew up in Krakow and now live in Augusta with my husband, Steve. We have two children and four beautiful grandkids. I’ve been working in the dental field for 33 years with 26 of those years at Franklin County Dental and Implants. Outside of work I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my family and friends.

Hi, I’m Elana! I have been a Registered Dental Hygienist since graduating from Forest Park and have had the privilege of serving my local community since 2007. I joined the practice in 2015, and am actually a second generation employee at this office since my mom worked the front desk here in the 90’s. I am very passionate about nutrition and the role it plays in the connection between oral and total body health. I am always eager to educate and encourage my patients to create healthy lifestyle habits. I live here in Washington with my husband, and I am a mom of four. When I’m not cleaning teeth, cleaning house, or running my kids around, I love to be active whether at the gym or out in nature. I also enjoy checking out farmer’s markets, working in the yard, and hanging out on the deck while my husband grills!

When I’m not at work, you can find me hanging out with my family and friends. I love being outdoors while fishing, hunting, and camping, and I am always down to go shopping!

I joined the Franklin County Dental team in August 2022. I graduated from St. Louis Community College at Forest Park in 2008 with a degree in Dental Hygiene and Health Sciences. I enjoy educating patients on their oral health and working with an awesome team that provides a high level of patient care. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my husband of 30 years and our three grown children. I like to stay active by practicing martial arts and running with my dogs. I also love traveling, hiking, kayaking, and binging on a good Netflix show.

At Franklin County Dental and Implants, we love what we get to do, especially when it comes to interacting with our patients. Our team is made up of experienced, compassionate professionals who are here to help improve the beauty and function of your smile!

What Patients Can Expect

When you first walk through our doors, you’ll be greeted by our comfortable environment and our friendly office staff. You’ll be invited to sit down and relax as you fill out any new patient forms prior to your appointment if you haven't already completed them electronically. Once those are complete and your hygienist is ready for you, we’ll invite you back into one of our operatories.

You’ll receive a cleaning, comprehensive exam, x-rays, and Dr. Schuyler will sit down with you to discuss the results. If everything looks good, you’ll be able to schedule your next appointment in the front office. If anything needs extra attention, Dr. Schuyler will explain the results and take time to address any questions or concerns you might have, and he will describe any further treatment recommendations.

We exist to provide you with efficient and successful care in a comfortable, welcoming environment. In order to accomplish this, we’ve equipped our office with the best cutting-edge technology and relaxing amenities modern dentistry has to offer. With CEREC Primescan and Primemill technology, we can take mess-free digital impressions and mill your crowns in-office while you wait. Our Community Partnerships

Our philosophy of care goes beyond the office walls. We believe that it’s our responsibility to care for our patients, both in and out of the operating chair, and one of the best ways to do this is through our community outreach programs. We partner with our local rotary club, as well as Give Kids A Smile, which provides underserved children with the essential dental care they need to have strong, healthy smiles. Our team is also proud to participate with Missouri Mission of Mercy (MOMOM), a large-scale dental clinic that provides free oral healthcare to patients of all ages who cannot otherwise afford treatment.
